Time2Talk Achievements
Time2Talk
continue to enjoy a solid funding base but are never complacent with
this and financial donations are always very welcome! In fact if you
are a UK tax payer, any donation you make will be eligible for the gift
aid scheme which allows us to claim back tax on the donation increasing
it by about a quarter!
We secured three year funding from
Northamptonshire NHS and further strategic grants for this year from
Northamptonshire County Council. It is important that we don’t
rely too heavily on one source of funding and to that end our funding
strategy is being reviewed in order to attract in as broad a range of
investors as possible so watch this space!
The
organisation has built on its success as a quality provider in the area
and alongside our Best Not for Profit business award in 2006 presented
by Gordon Banks MBE we secured a Bronze Standard Charter mark last month
for engagement and active involvement with plans in place to bump that
up to silver in the coming months. In addition we have been awarded
a Skills Pledge certificate from the Learning and Skills Council that
demonstrates our commitment to training our dedicated team.
There
is always a lot to do to maintain the wide range of services we offer
young people and it takes a full time team effort to ensure that what
is a unique, reliable and consistent service which celebrates its 20th
anniversary in November 2009 continues! On a another celebratory note,
the manager of Time2Talk Andy Nixon was awarded an MBE in this years
Queens Birthday honours list published on the 13th June although a great
honour, it is a reflection of the hard work and dedication the entire
team have made here at Time2Talk and no he doesn’t expect everyone
to curtsy (well not most of the time anyway!)
With continued support what remains a unique service in the face of
increasing threats and challenges from other agencies that receive more
funding and deliver less, we are determined to maintain what we do in
the district because no one else is doing it like we do and we are determined
that the young people in our area will have a service they want and
that they can access on their own terms as far as possible!
